Mounted Backstops

Our mounted backstop system from Spalding come in several different options. Based on your facility’s needs and set-up, you can choose from the ceiling or wall mounted models. The ceiling versions can be folded up and out of the way when more space is needed. The wall mounted versions have both permanent and fold away options.

GLIDING REAR-BRACED CEILING MAST
A smooth operating, forward folding backstop that offers maximum retraction height. This unit can be installed as retractable or stationary and meets NCAA and NFHS specifications. The framework is configured to adapt to any Spalding backboard and can be adjusted for play height with additional height adjusters.

ALL-PURPOSE CEILING MAST
This ceiling mounted unit has front, back, and side folding options that connects to the ceiling with a minimal footprint. This creates a better finished look, with self-locking braces when stored away.

WALL-BRACED STATIONARY
A robust unit with 2″ square steel tube cross braces and extension tubes that is available in extensions from 8″ to 13′ from the wall. This stationary unit can be attached to 2″ x 6″ wallboards and backboard by using the included 1/4″ heavy duty flanges at the tube ends.

WALL-BRACED SIDE FOLD
With a framework made of 2″ square steel with cross braces and extension tubes, this version of a wall mount can be folded away laterally to get it out of the way when space is needed. Available in lengths of 3′ to 13″ distance to the wall. The included hand crank allows the locking mechanism and adjustable collar, with telescoping brace, to adjust play placement easy.

WALL-BRACED FOLD-UP
Can be set up to be placed 3′ to 13′ from the wall and folds up vertically for additional space when needed.  The 2″ square, steel tube cross braces are saddle welded, and include flanges for stable wallboard and backboard attachment. This unit is raised by a 1,000 lb. manual winch and 1/4″ steel cable.
